New Vegas Iron Sights Fix
I know this is sorta like necroposting, but for anyone coming across this, the misaligned sights are due to a bug in the meshes of the weapons in New Vegas, if you have the PC version, there's a couple mods that fix this, and it makes aiming with true iron sights so much easier. A mod that fixes misaligned iron sights. posted in New Vegas Mod Requests: I'm not talking about using a weapon when your character doesn't have the skill for it, but rather the problem where the iron sights of some guns are just. For example, the caravan shotgun's iron sights seem to be much higher than where the pellets actually go.

This only happens outdoors, so I think it's something else. I am running a moderately modded NV: a general HD retext, a couple of weapons retext, lots of performance enhancing mods, and a lot of scripting mods (like faction overhauls and original content reintegration).
Vega Irons Review
My point being, there aren't any ENBs, light, or animation mods or anything else that could possibly be messing with the animaiton of the aiming. (I did install a couple of aming 'fixes', but none of them really seemed to do anything noticeable, and none of them claimed to fix the infamous 'parkinsons ironsights').
No dialog sound and only music. Dialog interaction boxes also skipped through very quickly, to fast to read really. Digging through the forums it seemed a digital audio/codec problem. I have ffdshow installed through the Combined Community Codec Pack, this seems to be the problem. My solution?Open the ffdshow audio decoder configuration.Go to the 'DirectShow control' page (select on the left side)If nor already ticked, tick the box that says 'Don't use ffdshow in:'Click edit and add FalloutNV.exe as an exeption.
You can find this file in your ProgramFiles(x86)/Steam/steamapps/FalloutNV directoryI've done the same for the ffdshow videodecoder but maybe that's not necessary.Works like a charm for me.:wavey:Posts: 3440 Joined: Thu Mar 29, 2007 2:45 am. I use CCCP too and I read somewhere that it was necessary to add the FO:NV game process as an exception for both the video and audio decoder. I don't think it worked in my case but it apparently works for some people. Before applying the silent hill ENBSeries fix, nothing worked. Even uninstalling CCCP and ffdshow. (I can't recall if I had the fallout.exe added in ffdshow audio/video decoder exception before I applied the silent hill enbseries patch 11, so if the patch doesn't work I advise doing the ffdshow exception.)Posts: 3506 Joined: Mon Dec 11, 2006 7:56 am.
